The Cambridge GOLD

The Cambridge has been designed to have an understated elegance, carrying only the simplest of engraving with the Gallyon name set in 22-carat gold against the Physical Vapour Deposition [PVD] performance coating on the side of the action.

The Cambridge engraved

The Cambridge House Style Engraving takes its inspiration from Dr Christopher Dresser [1834-1904], a British designer who was one of the most pivotal figures of the ‘Aesthetic Movement’ and the modern style of ‘Art Nouveau’, both of which styles evolved from the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Bespoke engraving is available for special order. (An example is the ‘Scenes of Cambridge’ gun in the photograph below. This gun features the Mathematical Bridge at Queens College on one side of the action, Kings College Chapel on the underside, and the Round Church on Bridge Street on the opposite side of the action)

After engraving the action will be performance coated using Physical Vapour Deposition [PVD], a coating which is extremely hard wearing and provides exceptional corrosion resistance.

The Holkham

The side plates of the Holkham provide an extensive canvas for the Gallyon house style, that takes its inspiration from Dr Christopher Dresser [1834-1904]. Dresser was a British designer who was one of the most pivotal figures of the ‘Aesthetic Movement’ and the modern style of ‘Art Nouveau’, both of which styles evolved from the Arts and Crafts Movement.

The Holkham model has 2 engraving options. Fully hand engraved or laser marked and then hand finished by skilled artisan engravers.

Bespoke engraving is available to special order.
